Konica Minolta's production print division will hold two open days on 19 and 20 October at the company's Ihub London centre, UK, to demonstrate systems for short-run digital book production.
Systems on demonstration will include mono and colour printing, plus softback and hard-case binding.
Headlining the show will be Konica Minolta's Bizhub Pro C65hc digital press with high chroma toner.
The Bizhub Pro C65hc is claimed to be able to print at 65 colour or mono pages a minute.
The printer uses Konica Minolta's high chroma toner to produce print results that are said to replicate the colour palate of an RGB monitor using CYMK print process.
There will also be the UK launch of Horizon's HCB-2 run-of-one case-making and binding system.
The event for digital book production will be held in conjunction with print finishing systems supplier Graphic Arts Equipment (GAE).
Visitors to the event will see Konica Minolta digital print systems and software used with GAE print finishing equipment to provide complete systems for the production of short-run or even one-off digital books with hard or soft covers.
Digital book applications include photographic books and wedding albums, for example, produced with Taopix software, children's storybooks, financial documents and short-run novels, among other products.
On show will be the full range of Konica Minolta mono and colour digital production systems.
These include the Bizhub C6501e capable of heavy-duty production of up to 300,000 A4 sheets per month with an output capacity of up to 3,900 pages per hour (65 pages per minute) in full colour and black and white.
Visitors will see print output from the Bizhub production print systems turned into soft- and hard-cover books using GAE's range of near-line on-demand binding systems, including Horizon guillotines, perfect binding, case binding and Komfi thermal laminators.
