Pega Print has undergone a management buy-in following the retirement of the company's founders.
Businessman John Savage has acquired the share capital of the £1.7m-turnover Rotherham-based printer from Gary Wood and Stephen Niemas.
Wood and Niemas are to stay at the company during a transition period to hand over the 12-staff business to Savage.
According to Savage, he was attracted to Pega Print by its "stability and professionalism".
He said: "Pega Print is a strong business that benefits from a skilled workforce and has an excellent reputation in the market based on the quality of the products they deliver.
"I am confident that I can use my experience to develop some new ideas which will help the business to grow and develop further."
The acquisition of the company, which counts Green Flag, Scottish Water, RAC and South Yorkshire Police among its client base, was funded by RBS Invoice Finance and Lombard.
Andy Tyas, relationship manager at RBS, said: "John is an experienced operator and impressed us with his business acumen and future plans for Pega Print.
"We are very pleased to provide the funding to support the plans he has for the business."
Pega Print runs two five-colour Shinohara presses and a two-colour Ryobi, as well as a Screen PlateRite 4000 platesetter.
"These are difficult times and we're in a recession, but I'm confident and that can rub-off on those around you," said Savage.
