Eskoartwork to exhibit packaging design tools

    Eskoartwork will demonstrate integrated packaging design tools that are claimed to enable brand owners and creative packaging producers to streamline the packaging supply chain at Luxe Pack 2009.

    The product to be highlighted at Luxe Pack 2009, the luxury goods packaging exhibition in Monaco from 21-23 October, will include Visualizer.

    This software creates and shares realistic digital mock-ups and soft proofs of complex packaging and label design with special print effects, such as embossing, hotfoil, metallic inks and different substrates.

    Visualizer shows how packages will look when handled and moved in a variety of lighting environments and backgrounds.

    Structural design information can be taken directly from Artioscad or Studio Toolkit for Flexibles, added the company.

    Also on show will be Studio, a plug-in for Adobe Illustrator that is said to enable interactive 3D packaging design.

    Studio offers a 3D viewing environment where designers can see their artwork applied instantly on packaging.

    And, by creating a 3D PDF file from Studio, they can share their ideas with clients for review and approval.

    Studio is claimed to reduce the need for time-consuming mock-ups and allows the designer to track errors faster, taking away the guesswork from 2D flats.

    Apart from the Studio plug-in, Eskoartwork will also present Studio Toolkits, which are said to help designers to prepare packaging shapes themselves.

    Studio Toolkit for Flexibles is a stand-alone application to design flexible packaging shapes.

    Studio Toolkit for Boxes is an Adobe Illustrator plug-in that generates a rectangular box, based on dimensions, or folds any keyline drawing into a 3D structure.

    Eskoartwork will also exhibit its Dynamic Content plug-in, which is said to establish dynamic links between brand owners and their suppliers.

    XML is used to connect to the brand owner's content management system.

    Dynamic Content is claimed to give designers full control over formatting and positioning of objects and enables the brand owner to edit and maintain text from outside Illustrator CS.
