CeBIT America for Storage and Security Industries

时间:2003-06-05 作者:Bisenet 来源:Bisenet

As part of its inaugural information and communications technology trade show, CeBIT America, the first international CeBIT trade show to convene in the United States (June 18-20, 2003; Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York City), will produce special exhibit and conference programs for the storage and security industries – two technology sectors expected to gain ground in 2003.  The programs reflect results of the latest CIO Magazine Tech Poll(TM) that forecasts a continued growth for IT spending in the coming months.

According to the March CIO Magazine Tech Poll(TM), a monthly survey of enterprise chief information officers conducted during the second half of March 2003, CIOs expect to increase their IT spending by 6.1% over the next twelve months.  Additionally, 27% of executives reported that IT spending had already picked up or did not slow down in comparison to previous months.

Industry sectors poised to see the greatest growth in IT spending include security products and services, storage hardware and software, and computers (desktop/mobile/servers).  These growth sectors are the same categories that lead the development of the CeBIT America information and communications technologies trade show.

"We are pleased to see the monthly CIO Magazine Tech Poll(TM) results map so well with the development plans of CeBIT America. Our conference offerings, exhibit floor programs and partnerships with leading organizations address these growth areas of interest to enterprise computing managers," said Mark Dineen, Managing Director, CeBIT America.

To address issues specific to the storage and security industries, CeBIT America has created a SAN Exchange and a Security Exchange as part of its Exchange Pavilion Program, which provides designated areas for emerging technology product categories on the expo floor and brings together solutions provider, industry associations and relevant trade publications.

The SAN Exchange, a pavilion showcasing new storage area networking technologies, ranging from data replication, RAID systems to server clustering, will also host the Storage Solutions Live! demonstration. In addition to providing attendees an overview of the latest enterprise security solutions featured in its Security Exchange Pavilion, CeBIT America will also offer a security conference developed by the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA). Computerworld sponsors both the SAN and Security Exchange Pavilion programs.

In a move to create an exhibit and conference program that best reflects those issues faced by today's senior IT decision makers, CeBIT America is consulting with several industry and media organizations, including CIO Magazine and CNET Networks, to identify the latest trends in enterprise technology spending.

CeBIT America will bring together over 400 exhibitors and 35,000 senior decision-makers from technology and vertical industries, including the automotive, banking, education, government, healthcare, hospitality, insurance & finance, manufacturing, media & publishing, and retail sectors. Partnering with leading business and government organizations, CeBIT America will offer exclusive business and educational opportunities for exhibitors and attendees, including a comprehensive conference program co-developed by CNET Networks and the Business Council for the United Nations' 2003 'Bridging the Global Digital Divide Conference.' Additionally, it will feature a series of specialty conferences developed by Gartner, Inc., Network World, Software & Information Industry Association, Tech Corps and the Wall Street Technology Association, among others.

The CIO Magazine Tech Poll(TM) provides technology and business executives, economists, and policymakers with a tool to gauge technology growth trends and to assess their impact on the overall economy. The poll panelists are asked to answer questions on overall current and projected IT budgets on a monthly basis. Also covered are future spending plans for IT hardware, software, services, and Internet initiatives.

The March CIO Magazine Tech Poll(TM) was conducted from March 13 - 20,2003 and can be found at http://www.cio.com/.  For more information on CeBIT America, please visit http://www.cebit-america.com
