Agfa has added permanent and removable self-adhesive grades to its range of polyester-based Synaps synthetic papers.

Synaps AP can be used for permanent marking and labelling, while Synaps AR can be used for product promotion displays on windows and smooth surfaces.

The products have an antistatic layer and ink receptive topcoat to enable smooth transport and fast drying, and can be used on standard offset presses with standard inks.

Jo Vander Aa, Synaps' worldwide marketing and sales manager, said the synthetic paper prints like a normal offset paper.
"The addition of self adhesive is a logical next step and fills the request being made by many printers who already use Synaps.

"While there is a great advantage for offset printers this product can also perfectly be used with UV inks, in offset and on UV-inkjet printers."

According to Agfa, Synaps AP and AR can be printed at faster running speeds than other similar substrates, while the use of standard inks without the need for powdering means that no expensive and time-consuming clean down is required at the end of the print run.
