Komori has closed its UK showroom facility in Leeds, redeploying two staff as the manufacturer centralises its demonstration and training facilities to Utrecht, Netherlands.

The company has sold two demo presses as part of the move and is in the process of expanding its Dutch site with a modern press line-up complete with pre-press equipment and workflow.

Utrecht will soon become a Komori Graphic Technology Centre, similar to the manufacturer's sites in Japan and Kuala Lumpur.

Neil Sutton, managing director for Komori UK, said the company was previously duplicating both equipment and resources across the two sites C something the centralisation has eliminated.

"The new centre will be more customer-focused and better suited to their needs. There will stronger press availability and improved training facilities for our sheet-fed products," he added.

According to Sutton, Komori has spoken with its customers who have welcomed the move and the opportunity to visit the company's European headquarters.
