  MAN Roland PraxisDialog 16 about optimized blankets and blanket plates

  In web offset, the technological demands on image transfer are higher than ever before. Higher production speeds challenge man and machine. What advances have taken place in development? What is MAN Roland contributing to it?

  Some 40 participants from ten publishing houses used the opportunity of PraxisDialog 16 in Augsburg at the end of April to inform themselves about the optimized use of blankets and blanket plates. Latest research and development results in print image transfer were reported by MAN Roland specialists, experts of the industry gave talks on technological aspects. Stefan Füllgraf, CONTITECH AG, discussed blankets, Peter Michel, KINYO Germany GmbH, contributed knowledge about blanket plates.

  In the hallowed halls

  Taking a look at the R&D department of a world market leader was a special experience for the PraxisDialog visitors. The guests were able to get an impression of how web offset is being advanced in its technological facets on the LABORMAN development press and on dynamic test stations. With the morning thus devoted to theory, printing praxis was turned to at noon. In the “Blanket” and “Blanket Plate” workshops it was shown that the products are proving their worth in practical use.
